Recovery Discovery (brought to you by Show Up and Stay), is a podcast series dedicated to exploring addiction through the lens of science and technology. We will explore innovations, clinical advancements, and scientific discoveries that are changing the way we treat and support recovery. The podcast is hosted by DeAnn Knighton of Show Up and Stay, which includes the most recent Sober Positive Workplace series. DeAnn is a Substance Use and co-occurring disorder counselor in the making, as well as a recovering human. The podcast is co-hosted with her brother, Craig Knighton, an engineer and technology expert, as well as Show Up and Stay co-founder.

Meet Your Hosts

DeAnn Knighton, co-founder of Show Up and Stay, is a recovering human as well as a substance use disorder and co-occurring disorder counseling intern and graduate student at Hazelden Betty Ford graduate school. Her research interests include clinical advancements in treatment for Substance Use Disorder that will improve patient outcomes. DeAnn is an active recovery advocate, which includes her most recent podcast work on the Sober Positive Workplace series promoting increased inclusion and normalization for those who don’t drink.

Craig Knighton, co-founder of Show Up and Stay, has recently transitioned into semi-retirement after years of work as an engineer and technology leader. He is currently working on several related projects, including an internship at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Butler Research Center. Craig has devoted significant energy to understanding how recent discoveries can help answer questions about why some recover and others don’t.
