our new project: Sober Positive Workplace

We spend a lot of time at work.

Even with the integration of hybrid work policies, it does not change the fact that employed persons spend at least 30% of their time in a working capacity. This does not include the time spent on household or childhood responsibilities. It also does not include the time you are hopefully getting your recommended sleep prescription.

It is not surprising that belonging at work feels important, not only for overall well-being but for survival. For many adults, work accounts for the majority of social interaction, outside of family.

Companies that build teams with meaningful connections can improve retention rates, workforce productivity, and job satisfaction. Happy hours, social get-togethers, and office parties have been a way to reward employees and build relationships.

Although the culture around alcohol is shifting, many workplace environments continue to have drinking at the center of work events. It’s just what we know. But, times are changing.
