the joy episode

(feat. Jen Butler + a "joyful" music therapy session)

Trigger Warning: All episodes discuss addiction, depression, anxiety, mental health and the recovery process in depth. If there is any additional triggering material that needs noting there will be mention at the beginning of the episode.

Today, host DeAnn and special guest Jen Butler (@jenbutlercoach) discuss various intersections of joy—plus wine mom culture, gray area drinking, and a joyful music therapy session.

Jen Butler spent a decade as a stay-at-home mom before becoming a Certified Professional Life and Recovery Coach and SHE RECOVERS® Coach. To cope with the rollercoaster of motherhood and enabled by wine mom culture, Jen was stuck in the fog of gray area drinking until 2018. As a coach, she provides connection and accountability – the keys that helped her start her journey to alcohol freedom – to gray area drinkers and multi-hyphenate moms who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and overwhelm. In addition to coaching, Jen is a blogger and aspiring memoirist, fitness instructor, and non-profit board member. Jen lives north of NYC with her husband, two children, and three dogs
